Senate Panel Rejects Pair of Public Options in Health Plan.

And why? Because evil corporations and corrupt senators can't profit from a public health option.
This is looking more and more like a pathetic JOKE, and we the people are once again the laughing stock... we will pay and pay and pay- or rather suffer and die while they make obscene profits.

Once again our supposed leaders vote to serve their own interests at the expense of public. If you think we live in a democracy, think again.

Make no mistake, we live in a corporate plutocracy and no one can change it, save for a miracle or a complete disaster.

I had hoped Obama could make a difference, and still think he can in smaller ways, but not on this level... the corporate vultures and their congressional cronies have proven who's in charge... just follow the money.

Benjamin Franklin's insight from his famous speech at the first constitutional convention in 1787 comes to mind:

"...I agree to this Constitution with all its faults, if they are such; because I think a general Government necessary for us, and there is no form of Government but what may be a blessing to the people if well administered, and believe farther that this is likely to be well administered for a course of years, and can only end in Despotism, as other forms have done before it, when the people shall become so corrupted as to need despotic Government, being incapable of any other."
