Le Rouge Est Mis, anyone?

Never underestimate the joys of good wine, food and friends

The Ten Bells, New York

Interesting article int he NYT on a nifty wine restaurant on the Lower East Side.

"The Ten Bells is just a great place to hang out, and as good as the wine and food are, they play a subordinate role, abetting conviviality.

The Ten Bells, which opened in 2008, was conceived by three employees of Le Père Pinard, a bistro nearby on Ludlow Street that closed in June. “We just wanted to create the kind of place we wanted to go at night,” said Fifi Essome, an owner. “We wanted good wine and good food, and to be very careful about the ingredients.”
